Life Savers League — Community CPR & Emergency Response

Youth‑led CPR awareness & first responder preparedness across Punjab

Life Savers League

Community CPR & Emergency Response Awareness Initiative

Youth-Led Preventive Healthcare & First Responder Preparedness Campaign

Focus

Building CPR awareness, emergency preparedness, and lifesaving response capacity among students, youth, educators, parents, workplaces, and communities across Punjab through structured community outreach and practical training.

Background

India is witnessing a rising incidence of sudden cardiac arrests and medical emergencies, increasingly affecting younger populations. Immediate bystander intervention and timely hands-only CPR can significantly improve survival chances before professional medical help arrives. However, CPR awareness and emergency response training remain limited across schools, workplaces, rural communities, and public spaces.

Rationale

Emergencies such as cardiac arrest, choking, drowning, collapse, electrocution, and trauma require immediate action. Community-level CPR awareness strengthens public health preparedness, encourages responsible citizenship, and develops networks of informed first responders. Schools, colleges, workplaces, transport systems, and grassroots communities serve as important intervention spaces where CPR literacy can create meaningful impact.

Objectives

Proposed Intervention

Implementation of CPR awareness camps, demonstrations, and emergency response training sessions across schools, institutions, workplaces, transport networks, and community settings. The initiative includes:

Institutional Collaboration

Youth Leadership

Spearheaded by youth leaders Juppan Sandhu (Amritsar) and Neerav Bansal (Ludhiana), coordinating outreach, institutional engagement, youth mobilisation, and awareness expansion efforts.

Current Outreach Locations

SDG Alignment

Beneficiaries

Students, youth, educators, parents, workplaces, transport personnel, industrial staff, rural communities, border populations, women, grassroots volunteers, and the general public across Punjab.

Implementation & Monitoring

The programme is implemented through structured awareness camps, practical demonstrations, institutional collaborations, and community engagement activities. Attendance records, outreach documentation, photographs, and feedback mechanisms support transparency and impact assessment.
